About the Location...

Learn to hone your outdoor painting skills in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a UNESCO-classified World Heritage Site, listed by Condé Nast Traveler readers as a Top 25 destination in the world. Come paint well preserved 16th-century Spanish architecture, experience the rich mestizo culture, and dine in fabulous cafes and restaurants, all while being taught new and exciting ways to paint en plein air by three internationally-renowned instructors!

San Miguel de Allende is situated 6200 feet above sea level. The weather is mild year round and the high elevation offers distant views deep into the countryside and beautiful morning and evening light. SMA is a town filled with picturesque cobblestone streets and romantic dining and bars, provinding plenty of afterhours entertainment for the artist who is not quite ready to go home.

How to get there:


The best way to arrive is to fly into the airport in Leon or Santiago de Queretero and take a bus or taxi directly to your lodgings in San Miguel. This is safe, easy, and inexpensive to do. We will provide instructions and can recommend first class bus lines and private drivers if you ask.You won't need a car for this workshop. We will walk or provide transportation to all of our painting locations.
